Crabbing

Two people smiling, one holding a crab, at an outdoor event.

Crabbing is among the best in the state, and the bay also offers excellent salmon fishing and clamming.  Public docks for crabbing, fishing, and moorage, a launch ramp, day use park and picnic area, are among the facilities available in the Port area.  Many private marinas along the river provide similar services.

A license for all shellfish harvest, including bait shrimp harvest is required.

Anglers should check the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife regulations for current license requirements, limits and species identification.

Crabbing is easy, fun, and often rewarding!
