New ADA Accessible Dock And Launch Completed in November 2021

In late November of 2021, work was completed on the installation of an ADA Kayak Dock.  While designed specifically for those with disabilities, the dock also provides water access for those who recreate in kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards.

Hand-rails provide speed control leaving and re-entering the launch ramp.

Water entry is smooth.

Exiting the water is equally easy as the dock floats up and down with the tides.

Upon entry, use the rails to pull back onto the launch.  Water buouncy enables the craft to float up on the launch with ease while using the rails to move back to the boarding point.

A loading zone is located next to the gangway for unloading equipment.  The gangway to transition down to water level and onto the kayak launch platform is also to ADA standards to provide easy access and includes a ramp to move onto the kayak dock.

There are no fees to use the kayak launch although a donation box is nearby for help with maintenance costs.
